10x 5g sachets of Champagne Yeast (EC-1118) by Lalvin plus one 2g sachet of still wine yeast by Almost Off Grid. Lalvin EC-1118 is the original ‘prise de mousse’. It was isolated in Champagne and its use is validated by the Comité Interprofessionnel du Vin de Champagne (CIVC). Also included: 1x 2g sachet Almost Off Grid Wine yeast, suitable for all wine types. Each sachet is sufficient to treat1-2 gallons of wine (approximately 4.5-9 litres). Sprinkle contents on to the surface of the must at 10-30 degrees C and ferment within this range. Pack includes 10x sachets of Lalvin EC-1118 yeast and 1 sachet of Almost Off Grid Wine Yeast. Total yeast weight: 52g.
Its strong competitive character, its ability to ferment at low temperature, good flocculation and excellent alcohol tolerance make Lalvin EC-1118 an excellent strain to be used in a wide range of applications such as brewing homemade sparkling wines, fruit wines and ciders.
It may also be used to re-start stuck fermentations.
Simply rehydrate according to the instructions on the sachet, then stir into the must. Each sachet is sufficient to treat 5 gallons (23 litres) of wine.
