Almost Off Grid Mini Winemaking Kit with Country Wine Making Journal

The Almost Off Grid Mini Winemaking Kit is for you if you already have a traditional glass demijohn or a homebrewing bucket and you want to make your own Wine. We supply other kits which include a fermentation bucket or demijohn - this kit is for when you have a brewing vessel already. It also includes a Country Wine Making Journal with an overview of wine making and 5 tried and tested homemade wine recipes, including making wine from garden grapes.

Our Mini Wine Making kit includes:

• 1 traditional cork bung, prebored with a hole, designed to fit in the neck of a 1 gallon (4.5 litre) standard glass demijohn
• 1 Almost Off Grid Simple Syphon complete with tap to control the flow of wine when bottling and a sediment trap
• 1 fermentation airlock with loose fitting cap to keep the dust out, the neck of which fits exactly into the bored hole of the bung to create a seal
• 1 grommet into which the airlock fits if you have a bucket with a bored hole - you will either need the bung or the grommet depending on the vessel you are planning to use
• 1 stick-on thermometer to monitor the brewing temperature 
• 2 packs of Almost Off Grid all purpose wine yeast. Each sachet weighs 2g and is suitable for treating 4.5-9 litres of wine each
• 2 x kraft tags. We use these for recording each step and date when we make our wine, attaching them to the demijohn neck or bucket handle
• A glass hydrometer transported in a plastic tube which doubles as a trial jar, with hydrometer instructions included inside. You need a hydrometer if you plan to measure the alcohol content of your wine
• 6 plastic-topped corks which you can push into recycled wine bottles firmly by hand without needing a corker. These are suitable for still wine only. Only attempt to push them into bottles which previously had corks fitted - screw top bottles are unsuitable for them
• A copy of the Almost Off Grid Country Wine Making Journal with a wipe clean glossy cover, an overview of winemaking, tips and tricks and 5 homemade wine recipes: Wine from Garden Grapes, Strawberry Wine, Ginger Wine, Mixed Fruit 'Port' and a quick Rhubarb fizz recipe which is made in a similar way to Elderflower Champagne. 

Please note that you will need to sterilise your equipment with either a proprietary homebrew cleaner/steriliser or Muntons steriliser also works.

Fermentation vessel (such as bucket or demijohn), steriliser, ingredients and bottles are not included. This kit assumes you already have the fermentation vessel and steriliser you need to get started, and the ingredients.
