A 100g tub of Acid Reducer, also known as Precipitated Chalk and Calcium Carbonate, by Almost Off Grid. Used to reduce acidity in homemade wines and can also be used in cidermaking. The liquid will start to foam because gas is given up by the chalk as it neutralizes some of the acid and gas will be given off. So be sure to do this in a vessel from which some of the juice has been removed, to allow adequate headspace for the foam. Add 1g per gallon to reduce the acidity (increase the pH) by 1.5ppt or follow your chosen winemaking or cider recipe.
